Dunno for certain if the freeware AnyVideo will do DVD (mpg) format. The Pro version will for certain. Worth a shot in any case before coughing up $$$.

I purchased a "Virtual Santa" which is a DVD that you projector onto a screen set-up in front of a window. Can I follow the instruction above, convert the DVD to a .avi format and then control it with Aurora?
Basically all I want to do is control when the Virtual Santa plays. Thought it would be cool to use between songs. Oh, there might be some songs where I'd use it within the sequence, but that is not a high priority if that complicates the issue.
Tks!

That's great. All I need to do is kick it off in full screen with no other sequencing. Thanks.

If you need to flip the video to a different format, AnyVideo Converter works great. And its freeware. http://www.any-video-converter.com/products/for_video_free/

Absolutely! All you have to do is create a sequence and choose the video file as the media source. I've noticed movies that are already in .avi format seem to work better, but in any case it will extract the video and audio the first time you set it up. All you do then is adjust the settings for the monitor playback and then you just start sequencing like you normally would.
Although a bit more processor intensive, I also like to keep the "Preview in Timeline" option checked so when I'm sequencing I can see exactly where the movie is at.

So I am fairly new to Aurora and have a quick question. For Halloween I usually run a video projection on an outdoor screen. This year I am adding sequenced lights. Is there a way to use Aurora to kick off a video on the computer as part of a show?
