I have 12 leaping arches with 8 channels each and 13 lighted poles separating them for starters. My mega tree has 16 x 4 for 64 channels. I have 16 mini trees circling the Mega tree. etc. etc. Big%20smile

I guess I just misunderstood the import channel function. I thought you could merge two files together for a final mega file. Guess I need to put 'A Merge Function' in the wish list.

Thanks,

Someday there will be a manual with extended descriptions of what each function is supposed to do.

Holding breath for DMX.

A merger of the 2 doesn't really take place the original channels and visulizer picture and drawing(s) are replaced with the channels and such in the imported file.  The key might be to have all your channels defined in the 'import' file. If you're using someone elses sequence you want to match the unit id and channel assignments to whwere you want in your setup before importing.

So 'I load a master channel file with 432 channels.' - ok 432 channels

I then use the File >Import > Channel from a file with some additional channels. - Additional channels would mean you need the 432 plus the additional channels in the import file.

No, the new channels have a completely different set of labels and controller for that matter.

The channels import ok but the original channels go poof! No merge takes place.

I can do a video and put it up to show you if that would help.

Do the original channels have the same channel name tags as the imported channel list? If so, there's your problem.

I have Aurora 1.1 loaded.

I load a master channel file with 432 channels.

I then use the File >Import > Channel from a file with some additional channels.

I get the new channels and the original channel definitions disappear.

Am I doing something wrong? Is this a bug?

I also tried to right click on the channel area and do an import with the same disappearing channel results.

You need to open your D-light template in Aurora then add Firefly to that template and resave as a new template for Aurora .  Then you can re-import that new template into your existing sequences and the channels should line up and FF will be included in the channel list.

Ok, I have my Halloween and Christmas sequences converted from Spectrum to Aurora. A flawless change over. Everything outputs to the controllers and looking good.

Now, I want to add 48 channels for Firefly to each  sequence so I created a "Firefly Template" in Aurora. Thinking that I could import these channels (48) into the existing sequences. Whenever I do import the "Firefly Template" it deletes the existing controllers and replaces them with the 48 Firefly channels.

Have I missed a step? Confused
Am I just out of luck and have to add 48 channels one by one into 14 different sequences?Unhappy

If there is a way to get those channels in  I would love to know!  Big%20smile

By the way thats 768 channels to add one by one

Thanks
Mike
