Use the visualizer

In the past, I haven't used the visualizer mode with sequencing software because it seemed either too primitive or didn't give me a real good idea of how it would look due to my machine's performance.

Do yourself a favor and take the time to experiment with Aurora's visualizer mode.  My style of sequencing has completely changed because of it - no more "imagining" what it will look like.

To set up the visualizer, you first specify a picture.  Get an image of your house/display area. Aurora Sequencer, click File / Properties.   Assign the picture.

To enter the drawing mode, press d.  Draw the lights for your channels.  

When finished, go back to Editor Mode.

In the Playback portion of the display, click the monitor button toggle it between editor and visualizer playback.  Click play.

	I've put a video of the visualizer up on the Aurora wiki page - you'll see the link at the bottom of the article. I really should knock back the compression a bit - as the image is a bit blurry, but it should be enough to give you an idea of how the visualizer can help your editing.

	are there limits as to size of the image? also what is the best format? .BMP, .JPG...

	Not sure of any hard limits - the one in my video is an 8KB jpg. I think the thing to keep in mind is that the image will be resized to fit in the visualizer and for editing purposes, you really only need something decent....not multi-megabyte files needed here. :) Also - I used an image editor (gimp.org) to darken my image - the original was taken in daylight. Not completely necessary, but it helps a bit I suppose.

	Unless you are dealing with a gigapixel camera or something (yeah right) you should have no problems with image size. There shouldn't be a performance impact with any size picture. Formats will not matter much... they are all converted to a variation of BMP in memory but there shouldn't be a performance impact one way or the other.
