    Posted: 22 Jun 2009 at 2:36pm
Okay, I have a question.  I have been viewing the old version of Aurora that I had from last year since I switched over from Spectrum.  This maybe something that will be answered in the 1.1 version tha tis  due to be released, but it there any availibity of the user being able to animate, let's say a sign or a lawn ornament in conjuction of a sequence playing?  What I am asking is if we set our systems, will there be a feature called animation which is something that can run independent and can be controlled by an outside remote?

Hmm.  I think I may be confused by what you are asking.  Are you talking about controlling something like an LEDTRicks panel??

Well, let's say you have a sequence running, the  lights are going through there performance.  On top of your roof you have santa that you want to control independent of the sequence.  In your hands you have a remote that when you click or activate, santa will light up on your demand seperate of the sequence.  But later that sanat may light u[p as part of a sequence in a later performance....the Santa would be on a seperate SSR being controlled by DIOs.

There is no guarantee of DIO support for 2009 at this point in time.  It might still happen, but I can't guarantee it until some other things are completed first.

If you can do this with D-Light/LOR/DMX controllers instead of DIO, then there is a project in the works that could be used to accomplish your task (and much more), but I can't say anything about it at this point in time.

See the controller is used for the seperate animation.  There is what I beleive a 12 or 16 pin which when I went and looked for in my D-light controller that I need, it isn't there.  So it would seem that you would need a "deifferent" controller.  But as for the support of the DIO, you are saying Aurora will not be able to uintergate both usage of the DIO and controllers?

There are significant milestones in the project plan that much be reached before a public time is committed to.  I do not prefer to announce a product date that is unreliable and then "scrub the launch".  I will certainly take your desire for a DIO plugin into consideration as the project plan is revised in the upcoming months.

We're all excited about what features Aurora might contain this year, and each request that lands here does receive serious attention.  Please understand that we don't want to lay out the entire play book for the competition to see either, so specific dates on when things will happen may sometimes remain undisclosed.

I understand not laying out to the competion what the upcoming plans are, but right now I am refer to items in a product that is already been released by others.  I am just trying to find out if Aurora will be going in that direction or a round about time frame. I understand the average individual may not be thinking about christmas in June, but I start creating new items for display and sequencing this time of the year.  Sorry, just would like to move forward if I can and plan around what is coming up.
