This adjusts how many frames the lights "run ahead" of the actual timeline. The defaul setting of "2" is usually best for compensating for protocol lag. Adjusting it higher can compensate for incandescent filament warmup. Adjusting it lower can compensate for speaker distance in yard speaker (non transmitter) applications (purposefully lagging the lights to give the sound time to reach listener's ears). Frame offset only is used for sending to the lights. The preview does not offset.
The purpose is to time align the real lights with the preview screen which is not offset. It has the added bonus of being able to compensate for other situations (like speaker delay). The setting was far more important in older versions of Aurora when the protocol engine was less refined. Today, 99% of all situations should leave the value set at "2". It has been left as an option in the properties for the 1% of users which use it for atypical applications.
