I have uninstalled my sequencer to install the newest version but the new version locks up every time I try to start it. Do I need to remove all of my saved sequences from the computer as well? I really need to get this going so any help would be appreciated.

No you don't need to remove all of your sequences.  Before you ran the install did you remember to reboot your PC as well as reboot after the installation.
