Do I need a controller attached to the pc?

Sorry but Im new. When I try to learn how to use the software, the program comes up but I do not see any place to assign a controller or plug ins to controll different controllers...... Do I need to have one attached to the system to use the software even just to play with it to learn about it?

ok so the only way that I have figured out how to do anything is to import a sequence from something else....... how do you start making a brand new sequence from scratch and work on the channels? I can get any to display unless I import.

Start Aurora, click Create New File or from the tab File/New. Enter the sequence title and the music file used. Then start adding channels and intervals.

EDIT - Half the battle is over using a PIC/Renard controller as it uses RS485 control in much the same manner as the commercial controllers. In short, the hardware is compatible; its just the SOFTWARE thats needed. While I seriously doubt you'll see it this year, I would suspect that something could be done in the coming year - possibly as a "plug in" on the controller setup pick list.
