Playback and Event Markers question

I'm not sure if this is a "bug", so I'm posting this here in the hopes someone can give me a hint about a good method for placing event markers. 

Ok, so I'm placing my event makers. I've got my selection highlighted and I hit play.  Before the playback begins, I quickly move the mouse to where I think I'll be putting an event marker.  The idea is that if I'm right, the music will pass the clock icon (my mouse pointer) at the time I hope it will.  If not, I simply move the mouse pointer over to where the marker should be placed, and hit space to stop playback. 

In reality, as soon as playback begins, the entire grid shifts itself.  When I move the mouse over the point I think I'll add an interval (which can't be done during playback) and hit space for stop, the entire grid shifts back to the view I had just before hitting play. 

I've tried adjusting my grid view so that the start and stop grid shifts are close to each other, but it's really hard to play a section without some kind of grid shift occurring.  Sometimes the area I'm working on shifts off the screen completely and will only appear once the music hits the edge.  Of course, as soon as I hit stop, I have no idea where I was even at. 

As you can imagine, this makes it nearly impossible to place event markers.  Highlighting or even just selecting a start point and hitting play have the same result.  Any thoughts?

Yep.  I only highlight portions on the visible screen to prevent that from happening.  I also try to start playback with the highlighted portion closer to the left side of the screen because Aurora seems to like it better that way.

Are you using the Select Tool to highlight cells to playback, or are you clicking and dragging in the waveform/spectrogram area to select a portion of the timeline to playback?

The reason that I ask is that if you have a portion of the timeline selected, and that portion is in the visible frame, the grid will not shift when you start/stop playback.  The only way it would shift would be if the selected portion of the timeline extends beyond the visible frame.

However, if you use the Select Tool and highlight cells, playback will start at the beginning of the sequence, or the last place you clicked in waveform/spectrogram timeline, not where you selected cells.  Having just openened Aurora and tried to follow along with what you are describing, this is the only way I can get the sequencer to behave as you describe.

A point worth noting...

Save for the Drawing Tool, no matter what tool is enabled, the mouse cursor changes when you hover over the waveform/spectrogram.  This allows you to either select a portion of the timeline or select a new start point for playback.
